6. How we are paid
The use of our website is free. However, if you purchase a product or service from a third-party provider, MyMoneyComparison may receive a small commission.
7. Product and service obligations
We will provide you with quotations based on the information you give us. Where we ask questions to help source quotations, you are responsible for the following.
Your responsibility
- Answering all questions honestly, completely and to the best of your knowledge, and ensuring that any assumptions made are correct.
- Failure to do so may make your insurance policy invalid or increase its cost. You may also be liable for any third-party costs in the event of an accident.
- For non-insurance products and services, the same caveats apply.
- 7.1To accept a quotation provided by us, you will need to link to the underlying product or service provider's website and retrieve your details, or, where applicable, contact them by phone.
- 7.2Before purchasing a policy, it is extremely important that all the information the product or service provider holds on you is accurate. You should therefore ensure that all information you provide to us is complete and accurate. Neither we nor any product or service provider will check this information for you. Failure to do this may make your insurance invalid or increase the cost of the policy.
- 7.3It is important that you read the product or service provider's terms and conditions to check that you understand and agree with them. Their terms are not the same as ours, and they are the terms you agree to when you accept a quotation.
- 7.4It is important that you read all insurance documents issued to you and make sure you are aware of the cover, limits and other terms that apply. Failure to comply with the product or service provider's terms and conditions could invalidate your policy.
- 7.5You should also check that all your details on the policy documents are correct, including any assumptions made on your behalf by the product or service provider. It is your responsibility to notify them. Failure to inform the product or service provider of any errors or missing information could invalidate your policy.
- 7.6Where you provide information about any other individual (for example, a named driver), you confirm to us that you have their authority to do so.
8. Comparison and online quotes
- 8.1We do not control the price, length of offers, or special conditions relating to price comparison quotes; these are set by product or service providers. If you obtain a quote and would like to see how long it is valid for, or any special conditions relating to it, please click through the links on our website to the provider's website. Providers' prices, rates and offer times are updated and amended regularly, so our price comparisons are subject to change.
- 8.2To purchase any of the products or services described on our website, you must contact the product or service provider. When a price is shown on this website, you will also find a direct link to the provider's website. For some products or services, you may need or choose to complete your transaction over the telephone. The product and contact details of the provider are listed on their website, or in some cases on ours.
- 8.3You should receive the results of our price comparison technology online through our website. However, we rely on the availability of third-party sites and their server performance. At certain times, some or all online quotes may not be available due to problems with third-party websites. Wherever possible, we will try to notify you of this.
- 8.4While we strive to provide as comprehensive and easy-to-use a service as possible, the requirements for your quote may not be met if they are unusual, non-standard or high risk. If this is the case, you should contact a provider directly to discuss your requirements.
- 8.5All prices quoted are inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) where applicable. This is a levy on insurance premiums set by the UK Government. The amount charged by insurers could change if IPT rates are amended by the Government at short notice.
9. Offline quotes
- 9.1If a product or service is not live for the online price comparison, your details are sent to the providers whose criteria you match, who will contact you directly so you can obtain a competitive quote. Your details may be sent to no more than three providers on our panel. When completing any quote request form, you will have confirmed that you are happy for brokers or service providers to contact you with a quote or price, and your details will be passed to them so they can do so. We may receive a small fee in return. If you do not want brokers to contact you, you can let us know and we will pass this request on to the selected brokers or providers.
- 9.2All prices quoted are inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) where applicable. This is a levy on insurance premiums set by the UK Government. The amount charged by insurers could change if IPT rates are amended by the Government at short notice.
10. Complaints
We set ourselves very high standards and do our utmost to maintain them in everything we do. In the rare situations where you feel those standards have not been met, we would like you to tell us, as this is the only way we can improve our service.
